Republican Convention underway — are you tuned in?

If you live in the United States you should most definitely, even if just a little, be tuned into the political race. Last week was the Democratic Convention, and this week, as may or may not know, is the Republican Convention.

We’ve already seen guest speakers, Bush, Liberman, Thompon and a couple others. All delivering different messages. Thompsons main message was on John McCain’s outstanding character and spoke mostly about his political and personal history. Liberman, a democrat, spoke mainly about John McCain putting country before politics and needing to unify the country regardless of political party.

All of the speeches thus far have been, in my opinion, well-spoken and powerful. This holds true for the speakers of both parties. But I think the Democratic party spent too much time feeding off of and focusing on current negative emotion to build hype than build credibility for their candidates. They were very broad and generalized most everything they said to make it more powerful and emotional. Do you disagree? Agree?

Moving forward, Palin’s speech is tonight and, as you can guess, it is extremely important. She has been getting a good amount of negative press lately from left wing media trying to bring her down. Unfortunate because they have absolutely nothing on her besides some personal family problems that they’re so quick to dig up and expose to the public. Whether or not there is an argument against her qualifications as Vice President based on her family’s personal laundry is irrelevant as families should be kept out of political agendas. Family is off limits. But the democratic side is obviously getting scared if they have to sink that low.

What are your thoughts?
